BEATRICE – Despite two starters being out and a considerable distance, the SCC Storm prevailed against McCook Community College for a needed win.
The Storm won at McCook in three sets, 25-22, 25-12 and 25-16.
Head Coach Carrie Puhalla commented that the distance played an impact. She said that the team “took a little while to get warmed up, which is always one of my fears of travelling that far. But once we got warmed up, the team did a better job of executing.”
The two missing starters meant that some of the players needed to be moved around, but Puhalla said that the players “did a good job of adjusting to different positions.”
Furthermore, she added, “It was a good win, and we definitely needed it.”
