BEATRICE – SCC women travelled to Union College on Tuesday, Nov. 29, and returned with a win. SCC raised their record to 6-1 for the season.
“We started off pretty slow after an 18-day lay-off of games,” said Head Coach Vicki Wooton.
The Lady Storm went into the half with a lead of 35-17 over Union. They returned in the second half to finish the game 82-37.
“We scored 70 points in the last 29 minutes of the game,” added Wooton.
Freshman Rachel Brewster of Fresno, Calif., came off the bench to lead SCC with 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Mesha Phillips, a freshman from North Las Vegas, Nev., contributed 15 points, 4 rebounds and 5 steals for Southeast.
SCC Women’s basketball will be hosting the Holiday Classic Tournament on Friday, Dec. 2 and Saturday, Dec. 3. They will face North Central Community College on Friday at 6 p.m. and Nebraska Wesleyan JV on Saturday at 6 p.m.
