BEATRICE – The SCC Men’s Basketball defeated York JV on Wednesday, Jan. 11, and improved their record to 12-3 on the season.
“(This was) a good game for everyone to get back into the swing,” said head coach Joel Wooton; “everyone played, everyone scored.”
SCC finished the first half with a score of 56-32. The Storm went on to win 109-77 over York.
Sophomore guard Venton Wilder of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., led the Storm in scoring with 13 points.
Sam Bongomin, a freshman guard from Omaha, came off the bench to give Southeast 10 points and 6 rebounds.
Freshman forward Gatpan Panoam of Ancorage, Alaska, led SCC in rebounding with 10 total.
“It was good to see some of the guys who haven’t gotten to play a lot get into the game and show what they can do,” added Wooton.
Southeast’s next game will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan 14, at Brown Mackie in Salina, Kan.
