Storm Softball traveled to McCook for a re-scheduled doubleheader from the Spring Break Trip.

The Storm went 1-1 in the seven-inning games.

Game one had Ellie Edmond take the mound and pitch a strong game allowing only three hits, walking four with one hit batter and five strikeouts, but took the loss as the Storm were not able to score any of the runners they left on base.

The Indians took game one 2-0.

The closest the Storm came to scoring was in the fifth inning. Savannah Grabowski, running for Montana Lovett who had singled, was called out in a close play at the plate.

Game two had Megan Hartman scatter eight hits with one walk and three strikeouts to beat the Indians 4-1.

The Storm had nine hits in the game and scored one run in the second, two in the third and one in the sixth and held off McCook, who loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth but could not score.

With runners at first and second and one out, Aryssa Borrenpohl went back on a deep fly ball to center field, and although not able to make an over the shoulder catch, Aryssa held the Indians to a single and no runs scored on the play.

An infield pop up to Callie Pinkham and a game ending strikeout secured the win.

The Storm are now 17-18 and 1 and traveled to Central CC on Wednesday, April 13, for a conference match-up that will determine second place in the conference with the Region IX Tournament just around the corner.
